Range Requirements

  • Location:  Live fire sessions will be conducted at the NRA’s state of the art shooting range facility conveniently located in 11250 Waples Mill Rd. Fairfax, VA 22030.  https://nrahqrange.nra.org
  • First time access requirements and range card fee:  All first time shooters to the NRA Range will need to complete a short safety test and briefing, after which they will receive a Range Card which grants access and is valid indefinitely.  The range charges a mandatory one-time $10 fee for this process.
  • Range usage fees:  $25 per shooter (if over 18) per visit.
  • Required supplies/gear:  shooters are required to provide their own ammunition (50 rounds) and safety equipment (eye/ear protection).  Ammunition must be factory new, NOT reloaded or “remanufactured.”  If you need supplies the NRA Range has a pro shop with ammunition (current cost  ~$25-35 for a box of 50 rounds of 9mm) and safety equipment (glasses $5; foam ear plugs $1; ear muffs $20-22) available.

Cancellation Policy

  • Payments are non-refundable.  If a student is unable to keep a planned appointment, it can be rescheduled (twice) within 2 months of the original appointment, after which time the payment is forfeited.  Any requests to reschedule must be received at least 48 hours prior to the appointment start, or payment will be forfeited.  No-shows will not be rescheduled.
  • For larger/open group events (e.g., Virginia Concealed Carry courses), classes with 3 or less students registered may be cancelled; payment already submitted will be credited for future course session or applied towards other training.

Training eligibility

  • Age Restrictions:  All shooters under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
